welcome to our blog

This blog can provide us an opportunity to share experiences and photos of life here at the ranch. We can report on the creature "sightings", status of the "dig", the ramblings of the creek, etc. For those of us not at the ranch all the time, we can virtually experience the transition of the seasons and all the ranch happenings.

Right now the blog is restricted to ranch owners. (The emails I had.)

Hello all and a pleasant Sunday to you,

It is by no means perfect, and there is much work left to do, and more money to be spent, but for the last 24 hours irrigation water has been pumping into the ranch house pasture - formerly known as the alfalfa field - for the first time in years. The big grader was here last week to do the roads, and we allocated half of its time to building working berms around the field, and we are now watching to see how level we've managed to make the field with our little tractor and how well the water spreads. We have purchased $1300 worth of hybrid Bermuda seed - and are awaiting delivery of a few acres worth of Buffalo grass seed - and are gearing up to begin Spring planting. Is that great, or what?

Muddy and optimistic,
Jonathan
